If you have ever worn a cape, been covered with slime, endured a sword fight, and narrowly escaped a nerf bullet, you’ve probably attended a boy’s birthday party. Putting together a successful birthday party for boys of any age needs a little extra planning.
It’s a time to allow boys to be boys and put all of their energy to good use. Here are some of the best boy birthday party themes that will have all the kids on the block battling, building, blocking, and batting to victory.
Star Wars: This just might be the most popular party theme on the planet. Who doesn’t love start wars? Jedi training, light sabors, R2D2, the possibilities are limitless. Use the force and bring this party theme to life. I found a beach ball death star on Amazon for $5, my son loved it as it hung from the ceiling at his party.
Baseball: If your little guy is a sports nut, throw the ultimate baseball party. I like this particular idea even more because it’s vintage theme, which I think looks classy and beautiful. Bring on the peanuts and cracker jacks!
Bugs: When you’re little one can’t stay out of the dirt long enough to take a decent birthday picture, it might be time for a bug party. Hey, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em! All that extra dirt will just blend in with the décor.
Nerf: Chances are, if you’re a mom of boys, you have nerf guns all of your house. Put them to good use with a nerf party complete with plenty of target practice, or better yet a nerf war. If you have the space, allow the boys use old cardboard boxes to create forts before the big fight.
Construction: If you have a little guy who is obsessed with construction trucks (or the movie Cars), this is a great party theme idea. I love the tire table and construction cone carrots.
Dinosaur: Dinosaurs are a great theme for just about any age. From Land Before Time to Jurassic Park, Dinosaurs are always a hit. This food table has me amazed at the beautiful display of creativity.
Super Mario: They just don’t make video games like they used to and the classic Super Mario will always have my heart. This party mom actually transformed her basement into a space for Mario Kart racing! Every boy loves video games and is sure to enjoy this theme!
Lego: I love how creative this mom was with her Lego theme birthday party by creating napkin holder, plate holder and even utensil stand out of Legos. She even had Lego trucks serving hot dogs! Having legos out for boys to create the tallest, fastest and best creations make for a fun activity. Of course a Lego movie screening would make them scream, “Everything is Awesome” at your party.
Harry Potter: If your little muggle has been practicing their spells and waving around a wand in their spare time, a Harry Potter party might be the perfect birthday for them. This theme is great for older kids who love Wizarding World and are ready for a Hogwarts journey of their own. Dowels with hot glue and spray paint turn into wands, jars of colorful candy can become Honeydukes lastest sweets! The boys love this and it is the easiest themes I have ever done.
Houston, we have a birthday. This party starts on point with boxed invitations that include their own NASA uniform (tee-shirt) and pre-flight energy (gummy bears). The fun continues at this space station party that is out of this world amazing.
