I am going outside the home decor topic for a minute. Because I love food. It is finally warming up and food is all I am thinking about lately!
I like to consider myself a foodie. I love foods of almost any genre, type or style, but my most favorite foods are bars. Food bars have completely taken over every barbeque, luncheon, baby shower, bridal party, campout, picnic, and even wedding reception I’ve seen in recent years. They are trendy because they combine two things everyone wants: taste and presentation. Bar foods are easy to put together, fun to eat, and look amazing. Plus, they make it easy to feed a crowd.
There are few things as pleasing in life as a well-placed buffet of food options. Here’s just a dozen or so of my most favorite summer bar ideas for your next party.
Yes, please! This is a crowd pleaser for kids and adults alike. Did you know you can actually rent a nacho cheese dispenser? You can also find pretty awesome crock pot recipes for cheese and chili.
Perfect for a brunch, ladies lunch, baby shower or bridal shower. Add fresh fruit and maybe a couple of pastry or bagel options and you’re good to go. Best of all, this one can be prepped in advance because nothing has to be cooked hot.
Hot Dog Bar
We all love a good American classic, but this bar style takes the hot dog to a whole new level.
French Fry Bar
Your barbeque just got a whole lot better. The path to my heart is paved in cheese fries, so I love this option of fry flavors and options. No more potato chips from a bag my friend. This is much better.
Perfect for game day, Sunday, any day. This is a great way to please even the pickiest eaters. Probably better throw some peanut butter at the end of the aisle for kids.
Wine and Pizza Bar
For a more sophisticated crowd, this wine and pizza outdoor bar is a beautiful option. The pita bread for pizza base makes for less-messy option that’s easy to make.
This may have been where the bar trend all started. Everyone loves a classic taco bar!
Mac N Cheese
What a great way to please both the kids AND their parents. Provide good old-fashioned macaroni and cheese and then doctor it up with bacon, veggies, chicken and more. My kids would LOVE this (but there would be no broccoli happening on that plate).
I love this idea for any time of day, but it especially works great for morning events or brunch. Different types of fruits and syrups and of course chocolate chips and whipped cream too!
Looking for a sweeter option? We’ve got those too!
Ice Cream Bar!
Classic ice cream sundaes are taken to a whole new level when all the toppings and sauces are presented in a buffet of sugared goodness. Just add vanilla ice cream and you’re set for success!
This is perhaps the MOST popular bar I’ve seen. It’s almost a little too overdone, but I love s’mores so much I just can’t help myself.
If all else fails, just provide a buffet of food and a fountain of chocolate, you definitely can’t go wrong here.
